Calling all passengers who have not registered for camp yet,

Due to the overwhelming response we received for this year’s camp, we decided to extend the closing date for registration to 16th Sept (Wed), which is just 3 days before camp. For those of you who thought you have missed the boat to sign up for the camp, you’ve got a second chance (Yay!). For those of you who are kings and queens of procrastination, better sign up now because the camp is almost full house and there aren’t many spaces left. So what are you waiting for? Dear campers,

As the time draws near, I bet you’re excited to know what’s in store yes? But every war needs its preparation and strategy so here are a few tips:

Things you are highly recommended to bring:

1) Clothes. Preferably enough for 4 days and more. *Note: There is a swimming pool within throwing distance. Pack wisely. REMEMBER: Hill. Night. Cold. Sweater.

2) Toiletries.

3) Bible.

4) Stationery.

5) Torchlight

6) Some string. This is always handy coz you never know when you will run out of dental floss. Ok, maybe bring a ball so that we can commence captain ball.

7) CAMERA!!!

8) An open heart.

Things that are optional:

1) Family portrait. Just in case your new found friends wish to determine who you resemble.

2) Beach ball.

3) Sleeping bag.

4) Notebook (a conventional one that you use a pen to write on; not those modern day things with a screen and a keyboard)

5) Accessories

6) Shades

7) Business cards.

8) Deck of cards.

Anything else we forgot to remember???

Just to inform you all that the registration for the Ibridge camp is closing very soon. In fact, its closing on 7th September 2009 (Yeap, this coming Monday…yikes). So, for those of you who want to go but are procrastinating, better sign up now! All you need to do is to click the ‘Camp Registration Form’ icon on your right and fill in your particulars. Grace Hill

Grace Hill Lodge is tucked away in the plush green surroundings of the Bukit Tinggi highlands away from the hustle and bustle of the city (well, 45 mins away actually ). As you enter the resort, you can’t help but have a sense of tranquility come over you as you breathe in the cool breeze and the crisp jungle air. A place filled with God’s natural wonders is indeed ideal to learn God’s word.

Pass the black iron gates and you will notice a couple of chalets to your right and a multistorey building that houses the meeting hall and family rooms in front of you. As you descend down the stairs from the meeting hall, you will pass by the dining area, a wooden gazebo and a mini flower garden.

However, the main attraction of the resort is the lovely swimming pool which is directly in the centre, surrounded by all the dorms. Filled with natural spring water, it gradually gets deeper and is surrounded by wooden platforms for souls brave enough to perform crazy diving stunts in front of the roaring spectators viewing from outside their dorms.

As you descend away from the swimming pool, you find yourself hearing the sound of a rippling brook. Follow the trail and shortly you will find yourself face to face with a cascading waterfall, whose roar drowns out the noise of the jungle.

Of course, there will be lots of fun-filled activities (captainball, water polo, jungle trekking and other interesting surprises) and of course time to just unwind, chill out, relax and build lasting friendships. First of all; Congratulations! Give yourselves a pat on the back, for you have finished your education and have made your parents extremely proud of you (and relieved for they can stop paying your tuition fees). Secondly, you have our deepest Condolences; for you have entered the terrible working world where you have to report to a creature known as the ‘boss’ (No, you can’t stick ‘Kick me’ labels behind their backs unlike during school), wear formal clothes (no more T-shirts saying ‘I’m with stupid →’ for guys and body hugging baby T’s for girls) and waking up early every morning (This is work, not school; and you can’t ‘ponteng’ work, silly).

For those who are already working, there will be times where you will be tired of working when you feel overworked but underpaid. Doesn’t it make you wonder what happened to the dreams you have during campus when you aspire to make a positive difference when you started working? And what about God? Do you still have time for Him as you once did? Do you still pray, do quiet time or even attend church faithfully? Perhaps it’s time to step back away from your busy schedule and re-evaluate your priorities at work. The iBridge camp is actually the perfect avenue to do so. It is a camp held annually that teaches young graduates topics selected from scripture to guide them in their walk with God at work. The speakers will share topics related to their workplace experience and also equip campers to put on their spiritual armor and ammunition to face the battlefield in the working world. It is also a place to network with other senior campers as they might share valuable insights on working, career choice, good eating places, etc.

Of course, there are hot, juicy rumours of the iBridge camp being a matchmaking camp, where it seems that lonely souls that registered will pair off to become couples after just 4 days of camp. Wow, it is no wonder that rational-thinking people will shy away from the camp as they do not want to be a stigma to their friends. Their train of thought would be ‘Oh my goodness, there is no way I’m joining this camp. I’m no desperado and neither do I have low self esteem’. For those of you who think in this manner, then this camp is most SUITABLE for you. Why, you ask? This is because your mindset has enabled you to go to camp with the right priority and a deeper purpose which is to listen and learn from God’s word as well as making real, long lasting friendships.

Take the case of a certain friend who attended the camp 2 years ago. She proudly testified that whenever she meets up with the rest of the ex-campers, she will firstly scream EEEKKK and then will continue to chat with them excitedly, listening to their needs, praying for them as well as taking an interest in their spiritual lives. Her close relationship with them is similar to the experience of other campers as well (without the EEEKKK). Of course, there are also cases where friendships blossom into courtship but that is after camp, not during the 4 days of camp, mind you. Interestingly, there is always the possibility of meeting up friends whom you thought you lost contact since school, college, university or from your previous church.

So, having read through all these 574 words, why not sign up for the camp? There really is nothing to lose. You have 4 days and 3 nights of mixing with a potpourri of young Christians in the entire nation (from English teachers and IT wizards to full-time FES workers), hearing God’s word from Christian leaders in their respective fields (did I mention Hannah Yeoh?) and of course spend some time relaxing and chilling out.
